In recent years, industrial policies have provided support for technological breakthroughs and accelerated development of industrial robots and precision reducers. Relevant industrial policies have listed robots and high-end CNC machine tools as one of the ten key areas that the government needs to vigorously promote for breakthrough development, requiring breakthroughs in the engineering and industrialization of intelligent core devices such as reducers. The "14th Five-Year Plan" and its supporting plans propose to deeply implement the strategy of becoming a strong manufacturing country, promote the optimization and upgrading of the manufacturing industry, cultivate advanced manufacturing clusters, and promote innovative development of industries such as robots; vigorously develop intelligent manufacturing equipment, strengthen joint innovation in production, education, and research to address weaknesses in perception, control, decision-making, and execution, break through a number of "bottleneck" basic components and devices, and develop advanced controllers, high-precision servo drive systems, high-performance and high-reliability reducers, etc. For example, the "14th Five-Year Plan for Robot Industry Development" states that in the face of new situations and new requirements, the next five years and even a longer period will be a strategic opportunity for China's robot industry to achieve self-reliance and leapfrog development. It is necessary to seize opportunities, face challenges head-on, accelerate the resolution of issues such as insufficient technological accumulation, weak industrial foundation, and lack of high-end supply, and promote the robot industry to move towards the mid-to-high end; it requires a development orientation towards high-end and intelligent development, focusing on the needs of industrial transformation and consumer upgrading, striving to break through core technologies, solidify industrial technology, enhance effective supply, expand market applications, improve the stability and competitiveness of the industrial chain and supply chain, continuously improve the industrial development ecosystem, and promote high-quality development of the robot industry. The development goal proposed by this plan is: by 2025, China will become a global source of innovation in robot technology, a high-end manufacturing hub, and a new high ground for integrated applications. A number of core technologies and high-end products in the robot field will achieve breakthroughs, with comprehensive indicators of complete machines reaching international advanced levels, and the performance and reliability of key components reaching the level of similar international products. The average annual growth rate of the robot industry’s operating income will exceed 20%, forming a number of leading enterprises with international competitiveness and a large number of specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative "little giant" enterprises with strong innovation capabilities and good growth potential, establishing 3-5 industrial clusters with international influence. The density of manufacturing robots will double; by 2035, the comprehensive strength of China's robot industry will reach an internationally leading level, and robots will become an important component of economic development, people's lives, and social governance. The plan also proposes main tasks including: solidifying the foundation for industrial development, enhancing the functionality, performance, and reliability of key components of robots, focusing on high-performance reducers, developing advanced manufacturing technologies and processes for RV reducers and harmonic reducers, improving the precision retention (lifespan) and reliability of reducers, reducing noise, and achieving mass production.
